Praise

“Children will see the galaxy in a whole new light after this wild flight.”
Publishers Weekly

“Tony DiTerlizzi paints like a very, very twisted Norman Rockwell.”
—Amazon.com

“It’s no surprise that the author collects toys nor that the motto on an opening page reads ‘Never Abandon Imagination."
Children’s Book Review

"Tempt fans of David Wiesner’s Sector 7 (1999) and William Joyce’s books with this high-flying, lip-smacking adventure."
Kirkus Reviews

“DiTerlizzi uses various perspectives to show just how tall the Grimble Grinder really is and to send readers topsy-turvy through space. With its repetitive text and large illustrations, the story is great fun for group sharing.”
School Library Journal

“DiTerlizzi has created and illustrated a fun and frolicking tale, loaded with creativity and wit! The text is wrapped in vivid color and all are sure to love that wacky redheaded freckle-faced boy and the little blue men on the red planet!”

Never Abandon Imagination Tony DiTerlizzi: Never abandon imagination.

Imagination is a world of possibility that exists within each of us. It is what makes us uniquely human. It is our creative fingerprint that touches and influences the world around us. Imagination is essential to art and science; to innovation and prosperity. It gives us hope, calls us to action and leads to change.

Whether it’s fairies, dragons, robots or aliens, all of my children’s book characters are siblings born of my imagination – an imagination strengthened through years of encouragement from family, teachers and friends. While so many others abandoned it during their transition from childhood to adulthood, I fiercely held onto mine, hoping for a day when I could share it to inspire the next generation of dreamers. Innovators. World changers.

Imagination empowers us to envision and create a reality of what could be. We must hold it dear, foster it and never abandon it.
